Based on statutory filings from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), BCBS entities reported receiving $18.7 billion in reimbursements in 2021 from uninsured, also referred to as Administrative Services Only (ASO), plans, an 18% hike from the $15.8 billion reported in 2017.
