APx500 V7.0 audio measurement software from Audio Precision adds a subscription model and support for GRAS SysCheck2-capable microphones. Other enhancements to the audio analyzer software improve analog, digital, and acoustic audio test applications, including an open-loop fast sweep function.

In parallel with release 7.0, Audio Precision introduces software subscriptions as an alternative to perpetual software licenses. While a perpetual software license will still ship with each new analyzer, software subscriptions provide another option for existing APx users to access the latest software release and associated enhancements.

Version 7.0 software teams with GRAS Sound & Vibration’s SysCheck2, a system designed to actively verify whether the sensitivity of a GRAS 246AE or 246AO microphone has drifted since its last calibration. An APx500 analyzer outfitted with V7.0 software, working in conjunction with an APx517B, APx1701, or GRAS 12Bx power module, allows users to run SysCheck2 and receive a pass/fail indication for each connected SysCheck2-capable microphone without the need of a calibrator or physical access to the microphone.

In addition, Release 7.0 enables the use of an extremely fast stepped-frequency sweep in open-loop testing scenarios, such as the testing of smart speakers. The software also offers improved FFT analysis by adding arbitrary lengths, windowless analysis, and level triggering. Power users who prefer bench mode now have access to the transfer measurement function and the complex frequency response function for a device using any broadband signal (speech, music, or noise).

APx500 V7.0 is compatible with all audio analyzers in the APx500 series and is available for downloading. New APx analyzers will begin shipping with V7.0 software in December.
